Apple Hires Former Meta Chief Legal Officer as New General Counsel

Tech giant Apple has appointed Jennifer Newstead, ex-Chief Legal Officer at Meta, as its new General Counsel.

 

Jennifer Newstead worked at Meta for six and a half years and boasts extensive experience in both corporate and government legal work. She once served at the U.S. Department of State, and spent years as a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell earlier in her career. She also held key positions at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget and the White House.

 

She will join Apple in January next year and officially take office on March 1. Going forward, she will also oversee government affairs. Reporting directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook, she will be a member of the company’s executive team.
