The merger between Ashurst and Perkins Coie officially came into force on June 28, 2026, and the new law firm Ashurst Perkins Coie commenced full operation. The combined firm runs 52 offices across 20 countries worldwide, with core practice sectors covering technology, energy & infrastructure, and financial services.
The merger proposal was unveiled by the two sides in November 2025 and unanimously approved by all partners of both firms in April 2026. The new firm adopts a joint management structure with joint global CEOs appointed from each legacy firm. Karen Davies, incumbent global chair of Ashurst, and Brian Eiting from Perkins Coie will serve as co-chairs.
